Nick Colton, Assistant Director of Prison Programs at The College of Southeastern Seminaryis inviting pastors to a special lunch meeting Tuesday, May 7th at 12 p.m. at the MBA Missionary Resource Center: 1520 NE 14th St, Ocala, FL 34470. Lunch is being provided at no charge by Southeastern, but registration is required. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about an Educational program at Lowell Correctional Institution in Marion County.  Pastors will learn more about opportunities for them and their church members to become instructors in the program. Some of the details are provided below the registration form.

From Nick:

"The College of Southeastern has partnered with the Florida Department of Corrections to offer incarcerated women a fully accredited Bachelor of Arts degree at Lowell Correctional Institution. This program provides a well-rounded theological education and a unique opportunity for personal growth, fulfillment, and service. Upon completing the four-year degree, graduates will be teamed and sent to different state prisons to serve as field ministers. The program will take four years to complete the education, comprising of fall, spring, winter, and summer semesters, and then a minimum of four more years serving as a Field Minister.

"Southeastern is offering paid faculty positions for adjunct professors to teach the classes. For accreditation purposes, they require teachers to have a minimum of a master's degree in a specific discipline, be in doctrinal agreement with Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and be active members of a local church. They are also looking for volunteer tutors and mentors to work with the participants."
